We are currently accepting online submissions for  

ArtSceneToday International Art Competitions

Our monthly juried competition recognizes excellence in the visual arts among emerging artists from around the world. Artists who are selected as finalists benefit from exposure in a month-long online exhibition on artscenetoday.com, in addition to the month of the competition. 

Call for Entries - August/September Competition Theme:

Art that relates to your birthplace, your current surroundings or the city that has captured your heart. 
 
DEADLINE: MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2010 
 
 

ELIGIBILITY:  Open to all artists 18 and over from around the world  with original works in any abstract theme - abstract, abstract expressionism, surrealism - any medium - paintings, drawings, mixed, scultpures, photography, digital.

ENTRY FEE:  $15 for 1 image, $5 for each additional image. 
  

JUROR:   Lisa Cooper, Elisa Contemporary Art Gallery 

AWARDS:   ALL ENTIRES will be exhibited on the homepage slideshow throughout the duration of the competition (the sooner you enter the sooner your artwork is shown).

WINNERS will be exhibited in the ongoing Juried Exhibition section, be the Featured Artist on our homepage, have an ongoing profile page, be featured in a 2-page spread in the Art Scene Today Exhibition Catalogue, plus appear in our Facebook page and email blasts.  Additionally:

  • The 1st Place winning entry will be used as the front cover of the Art Scene Today Exhibition Catalogue; be  Featured Artist on homepage for 3 weeks.
  • 2nd Place winning entry will be used on the back cover of the Art Scene Today Exhibition Catalogue; be  Featured Artist on homepage for 2 weeks.
  • 3rd Place winning entry will be Featured Artist on homepage for 1 week.
     
  • All selected fnalists will  be included in the artscenetoday.com online Juried Exhibition section and be included in the Art Scene Today Exhibition Catalogue.

    improve your chances of winning...

    Most artwork is rejected because artists don't follow instructions OR submit work that doesn't apply to the theme! 

    So do your homework...

    1. Read the call for entries and prospectus.
    2. Understand the theme to ensure that your artwork applies.
    3. Only enter professional images or photos that look professionally done: high resolution, in-focus, no frames, no extraneous items in front/next to/behind artwork, proper lighting without flash reflection.
    4. Title the file as requested - with tens or hundreds of entries it makes it easier to be reviewed and correctly attributed.
