about bill leonardi, artist and curator

My philosophy on art is that good art must create a universe in which it’s images live. Just as an author must create a setting for the characters to inhabit, a visual artist must create a space in which the forms created are believable.

I have been a professional artist for more than thirty years. For twenty years, I created fabric sculpture in collaboration with my wife Helene, and since then, I have created photographs including my Surreal Images which are multi layered photo montage works. Please check out my website listed above.

From 1996 through 2002, as a member and officer of the Alliance of Queens Artists, I juried and curated many art shows in our gallery, in libraries, in banks, and in La Guardia Airport. I always tried to be open to various mediums and styles of expression.

I enjoyed jurying this show. I thought all the submissions were of good quality, and I wish all the best of luck in your art careers.
