artist statement

MY life, growing up in NYC ,particularly Manhattan, I want the public to view the city through my eyes what I SEE everyday, walk by take in what makes me happy, where I go to escape, be myself, find solice and meditate.

bio

Born in New York City, Esther Torres studied art history in college, painting at the Museum of Modern Art and continues her studes at Salmagundi Art Club in lower Manhattan. She loves photography but also paints in watercolor and oil. Esther sells outside of the traditional gallery scene by participating In street fairs like the Art for Change Fair in East Harlem and exhibits her photography online on sites like Flicker.

She keeps herself up to date by taking in all the photography and art exhibits in NYC museums and attending lectures, She is a member of The Museum of the City of New York, El Museo del Barrio and the MET.
