artist statement

My goal is to create a space that encourages a dialogue between the viewer and my work. I look for this interaction, to be able to trigger a feeling, a thought or wonder.   Colors, textures, lines, shapes, and composition,  all work together expressing what one could find inside one’s mind, the definite as well as the uncertain.

With every new piece, I build up a connection between myself and the painting that pushes me, sometimes, in unpredictable directions. In “Portrait of an Artist – Pichuco” the more I worked on it, the more I pushed its colors to emphasize the artist vibrant personality.
